2007 Annual meeting

Now One Day Only! - No Overnight Stay Required

On May 19 the Illinois Pilots Association will hold its annual meeting and expo at Frasca Field (C16) near Urbana, IL. The Expo is open to the public. This will be a very special event as the IPA will be celebrating its 30th birthday.

If you have never been to an annual meeting, please consider coming this year to help us celebrate our 30th birthday. Even if you are unable to fly in, consider driving. Urbana is near the intersection of Interstates 57 and 74, so is an easy drive from most parts of the state. Also in 2007 the event has been shortened to just one day. So now overnight accomodations are no longer required.

The event is held in conjuction with the Military Aviation Hall of Fame of Illinois Annual Banquet

Saturday, May 19

Saturday's events will include:

8:00 am - 9:00 am: Registration ($15 for lunch)
9:30 am - 10:45 am: Safety Seminar: Scenario Based Training presented by Victor Veltze
11:00 am - 12:00 pm: FAA FASTeam presentation by Fred Harms
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm: Lunch; Speaker IDOT/Dept of Aeronautics director Dr. Susan Shea, and invited legislators.
1:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Exhibits and Forums (pilot concerns, etc.)
- Flying Activities: Flour Drop and Spot Landing Contest
- $5.00 entry fee - trophies for best performance.
- IPA Annual Meeting and scholarship award
5:00 pm - 6:00 pm: Wrap up and socializing.
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: Military Aviation Hall of Fame of Illinois - Ceremony & Dinner
- Tickets for Dinner/Ceremony, $35 per person, payable to MAHFI
- Frasca Air Museum Hangar
- Speaker: Joe Tanner, NASA astronaut
- Induction of Philip E. Smith, Colonel, USAF Retired
